McLaren Carbon Fiber P1 Hypercar Tribute
McLaren may now offer three vehicles to consumers after unveiling their newest Tribute to the discontinued P1 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. McLaren’s tribute, the P1 Hypercar, promises to amaze. For starters, McLaren Special Operations (MSO) stripped the paint in favor of exposing the carbon fiber body with nothing more than a Lio Blue lacquer. Not too shabby. On top of that, and in paying homage to the McLaren F1, the team over at MSO went all out covering the exhaust heatshield in 24-karat gold around the titanium exhaust system. Other upgrades include a gloss finish to the wheels, a re-trim of the interior with carbon black and blue stitching for contrast.
Under the hood, you’ll find the powerful 3.8-liter V8 turbo engine pushing 727 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. These specs get you from 0-60 in a neck-breaking 2.8 seconds, 128mph in 6.8 seconds, and 186 in an astounding 16.5 seconds. That’s enough to blow your hair back in itself. Needless to say, this tribute to the P1 promises big publicity for the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
