McLaren’s Lightning-Quick 610HP 620R Supercar Is Totally Street-Legal

Whenever we look at a new automotive platform for use on the public roadway, we’re always in the market for a sub-2.8-second supercar that should never have left the track. For buyers who feel the same, McLaren’s newest limited-edition vehicle, the 620R, is sure to strike a similar chord.

The limited-to-350 620R was introduced by McLaren as a fully-road-legal iteration of the company’s track-faring 570S GT4 — albeit, with more power than ever before. Below the hood, you’ll find the same M838TE 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as the platform’s predecessor, but with an enhanced ECU and turbocharger management setup that will allow the vehicle to pump out an exhilarating 610 horsepower. As a result, the 620R is now the most powerful model in the company’s Sports Series line. Pair that with the inclusion of extensive carbon fiber accents, redesigned aerodynamic elements, a set of Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, and manually adjustable Coilover motorsport dampers, and you’ve got an illustrious supercar that can rocket from 0-60 in under 2.8 seconds, and hit a top speed of 200 miles-per-hour with relative ease.
