Mazda MX-5 Speedster and Spyder Concepts
Our first glimpse at the Mazda MX-5 last week had us impatiently awaiting to see what SEMA had in store for us, and the Japanese brand did not disappoint with the Mazda MX-5 Speedster and Spyder Concepts.
For starters, the Spyder looks stellar. It’s sporting a beautiful vintage silver paint job paired with a contrasting brown fabric top that’s sure to turn some heads, while an aggressive aerodynamics kit and set of 17 inch wheels on all 4 corners round out the look. But it’s Speedster that really caught out attention. It’s got no roof, no windshield – just a tiny driver-side deflector to help shield the driver from the elements. The topless sports car is outfitted with a set of 16-inch wheels, adjustable coilover suspension system, a center mounted exhaust, and plenty of carbon fiber used throughout. Both models are concepts for the time being, but they look a lot more realistic than many of the concepts we’ve covered in the past, so seeing them come to fruition wouldn’t be too farfetched.
