Matador’s Beast Packs Are Tougher, Lighter, & More Collapsible Than Ever

With up to 28-liters of storage space in a lightweight, rugged, and technically-focused package that’s capable of being compressed into a small, fist-sized stuck sack, there’s a lot to appreciate about Matador’s Beast Series adventure backpacks, though that hasn’t stopped the Boulder-based outdoor brand from going back to the drawing board, utilizing real-world feedback and upgrading the lineup’s construction to deliver a new and improved Beast Series range.

Comprised of the new (28L) Beast28 Ultralight and (18L) Beast18 Ultralight, the revised bags see their predecessor’s shell replaced with a UTS (Ultra Tear Strength) polyurethane-coated Robic nylon. This change not only yields a markedly more durable and weatherproof range of backpacks but one that’s also substantially lighter. Weighing in at just 1lb, 8oz, and 1lb, 5oz respectively, the Beast28 and Beast18 Ultralight bags also boast a flexible frame suspension system, YKK hardware throughout, gear-loops for accommodating everything from ski poles to ice-climbing axes. a 1-3L hydration sleeve, and is sold with an included compression sack.
