Maserati Levante Trofeo
There was a time not that long ago when SUV sales were dipping pretty badly. But that slump appears to have been only temporary, as the class is definitely now on the rise. In fact, SUVs appear to be going through a renaissance – evidenced by the many new high-end releases. And one of the best ones we’ve ever seen was just unveiled: the Maserati Levante Trofeo.
Built by Ferrari, this beautiful beast features the sleek menacing look made famous by the Maserati marque over the course of decades, but boasts a greater ground clearance and beefier body than its luxury sports car brethren. It also has some excellent performance figures, thanks to a 590-horsepower 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine under the hood. That power plant give this luxury leviathan an impressive 0-62 time of just 3.9 seconds – making it the sport utility equivalent of a supercar. It even has a speed that tops out at a whopping 186 miles per hour. Though we imagine few will push those limits, as the opulent Pieno Fiore leather upholstery interior is far too luxurious to risk soiling out of excitement or fear. There’s no price yet released, but the limited nature of this exclusive vehicle will certainly come at a high cost. Production starts this summer.
