Dec 4, 2018

Category: Living

Focusing solely on our essential needs, Open Architecture and prominent tech company Xiaomi worked together to fabricate a prototype inspired by pure living on the red planet. Stripped of all the excessive aspects of our current homes, the Mars Case House promotes harmonious living with minimal essentials where we can learn to appreciate the simple things we overlook in the digital world.

The 2.4-square-meter innovative housing pod is capable of recycling exhaust, heat, condensation, and other byproducts to create a comprehensive ecosystem and reduce resources needed to sustain life. All of the domestic items within the abode can be connected wirelessly and controlled via your smartphone. The components within the house are inflatable, which allows you to fold the dome for effortless transportation. The pod prototype was unveiled at the Bird’s Nest National Stadium in Beijing and promotes the discovery of true inner-peace with this compact, futuristic living space.
