Mako Slingshot Jet Powered Surfboard
For some wave-starved regions of the world, waiting around for surf can breed frustration and even some spotty depression amongst wave riders – especially for those who happen to be landlocked for any period of time. Fortunately, the jet-propelled surfboard industry is growing quickly, looking to bring the joys of surfing to surfless areas across of our planet.
Case-in-point here is the Mako Slingshot, a quick and agile carbon fiber Jetboard complete with the right combination of sophisticated technology and sleek design aesthetic. It’s all powered by a 2-stroke engine that provides the Slingshot with upwards of 15hp and a top speed of 30 mph on the open water. State-of-the-art hydrodynamics also allows for precise handling and it’s travel-friendly as well – measuring in at 72 inches long x 23 inches wide x 17 inches high. A full tank gets you about 40 minutes of ride time at full throttle, it’ll support up to 220 pounds, and the piece itself weighs in at a modest 42 pounds making it easily transportable in just about any car or SUV.
