Macallan In Lalique Six Pillars Collection

In the world of whiskey collecting, few bottles are more sought after than those in the Macallan in Lalique Six Pillars collection. It is exciting, then, to see that one of the world’s only complete sets is being put up for auction by Bonhams in Hong Kong this month.

Ever since the collaboration between the UK distiller and the French crystal maker began in 2005 it has been a huge hit with collectors. The whiskey contained in these gorgeous bottles range in age from 50 to 65 tears and constitute the very best of the distillers stock. Individual bottles from the set often go for tens of thousands of dollars and regularly account for the top of the world’s most expensive liquors lists. This, in part, is why Daniel Lam, Bonham’s Whisky specialist, is expecting this complete set of single malts to fetch at the very least a half-million dollars. Time to start digging for quarters in the couch-cushions, folks.
