Though it was originally intended to be a stand-on vehicle for use at golf courses, the makers of the LyteHorse quickly recognized its conduciveness to off-road applications, prompting the company to further develop the machine. And after eight prototypes, LyteHorse Labs has now revealed the production-ready LyteHorse, the world’s first all-electric stand-up all-terrain vehicle.
Sporting a 45” track and measuring 6’ in length, the LyteHorse stand-up ATV offers an 80-mile range and a top speed of 40mph. Waterproof up to 2’, the vehicle is also equipped with both two and four-wheel drive modes. The LyteHorse tips the scales at 600lbs, though can carry a 200lb passenger plus an additional 600lbs of gear, while still offering an impressive towing capacity of 2,500lb. On flat terrain, the machine can even haul ten times its own curb weight. Available for preorder now, the LyteHorse starts at $9,997, though is available with an enormous slew of optional upgrades such as rifle and gun racks, extended range battery options, all-terrain, off-road, and bulletproof tires, emergency lighting, winches, jump-seats, multi-use hitches, speakers, surfboard racks, and auxiliary lights, just to name a few.
