The Bear Grylls name is synonymous with rugged, off-the-grid adventure and survivalism. The noted adventurer and television personality’s image and reputation have lead to collaborative partnerships for various pieces of official Bear-branded gear, ranging from limited edition sunglasses models and water bottles to a slew of products from Gerber. And today, Grylls revealed his latest joint effort with a new limited edition series of watches from noted American horological outfit, Luminox.
Dubbed the “Bear Grylls Survival Collection,” the new range of timepieces consist of three models: the $890 BG Survival Master Series, $445 BG Survival Sea Series, and $595-$640 BG Survival Master Series — all of which are offered in two different versions. Designed with help from Grylls himself, the three survival watches feature cases and bezels made from Luminox’s proprietary CARBONOX material, as well as tritium-lit hands and hour markers, Swiss-made RONDA analog quartz movements, 316L stainless steel crowns adorned in Grylls’ signature flux-orange hue, and matching stainless case backs inscribed with Bear’s “Never Give Up” motto, which is also printed on the dial. Water-resistant to 200M (300M for the Survival Master), these watches pack a host of survivalist-centric features like morse code decoders, rulers, walking-speed scales, paracord straps, and compasses.
