These Minimalist Prefab Tiny Cabins Were Built To Connect With Nature
The concept of dropping small, prefabricated structures into remote, serene locations is nothing new, though Norwegian studio, Livit has taken the idea and run with its via its range of “Birdbox” structures.
Designed to afford wildly unique vacation experiences and to bring its residents closer to nature, the structures boast a simple shipping container-esque rectangular design decorated via large circular and oval windows. The minimalistic interior provides a cozy setting, with just enough space to fit a queen bed and a few chairs. The Bergen-based business is currently offering two different Birdbox specs: the smaller 10.5’ x 7.2’ x 7.2’ “Mini” and the full-size 16.7’ x 7.87’ x 7.87’ “Medi.” There’s also a separate “Birdbox Bathroom” which features a black tint one-way glass floor-to-ceiling window. Designed to be plopped on mountain tops, these prefab structures can withstand extreme winds and arctic conditions. Available with an option to come delivered with preinstalled solar panels, all three structures are currently for sale, though Livit currently has two of its structures available for rent in its native Norway (one of which is on Airbnb). For pricing on the structures or to reserve your stay at a Birdbox, you can check out the company’s website.
