The combination of our new always-home reality, a string of technological breakthroughs, and increased accessibility have made indoor gardening boom in popularity. While it takes more effort than simply buying your food or plants from the store, indoor gardening allows you to grow your own food free from pesticides and additives and also cuts down on the likelihood of foreign parasites invading your grub. Building off of this momentum, LG has released an indoor gardening appliance that promises to revolutionize the space like never before: the LG tiiun.
Meaning “sprout” in Korean, the tiiun is an aptly-named appliance that allows you to grow plants, herbs, and vegetables in your home all year long. Gone are the days when growers are at the mercy of pesky variables like seasons, geography, pests, or climate. The stylish and user-friendly LG tiiun is a self-contained unit that features two shelves that can each hold up to six all-in-one seed packages along with three different kinds of seed kits. Each seed packet contains 10 holes for seed germination so users can grow a wide variety of flowers, herbs, and veggies simultaneously in just four to eight weeks. The LG tiiun employs a multitude of advanced refrigerators, water purifiers, and ventilation systems the company has developed to expedite the process, including LG’s Inverter Compressor, which adjusts the tiiun’s internal temperature to create the optimal conditions for organic growth. It can regulate its temperature and light to mimic the natural cycle of the day, as well as calibrate the perfect amount of water and moisture inside thanks to its smart gardening system.
Even better, the internal structure of the LG tiiun increases photosynthesis efficiency and keeps pests out of your garden with its air-sealed door. The LG tiiun will come in normal and mini sizes and will make its digital debut at CES in January 2022.
