Lexus Brings Luxury To Off-Roading With The 550HP J201 Overland SUV

Traditionally, Lexus dwells in a niche of luxury, producing and promoting illustrations of lavishness. For many, the off-road realm remains far removed from the aforementioned, due to its inheritances. But Lexus doesn’t believe that the segregation of the two should last forever. That’s why it set out to build an SUV catered toward the most salient of retreats.

Inspired by the rough and rugged characteristics of off-roading (and its enthusiastic audience), Lexus has introduced the well-attuned J201 Overland concept — a retreat-ready SUV that’s been informed by the brand’s LX 570 flagship. Built in collaboration with Expedition Overland, the J201 introduces a handful of premium components from the industry’s foremost providers, including a Prinsu Design roof rack, CBI offroad rear bumper, Icon Vehicle Dynamics suspension, and additional quality-of-life implementations from RIGID, CBI, WARN, ARB, and EVO. Below the hood, a supercharged iteration of the vehicle’s factory engine produces 550 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque, giving the J201 the ability to traverse any terrain that stands in its way. Head over to Lexus’ website to learn more before the vehicle makes its debut in this year’s Rebelle Rally.
