If the last few months are any indication, it looks like the next big wave in the world of technology hinges on the concept of folding screens. And while many of the major tech brands producing them are focusing on small-scale gear, like smartphones, the folks at Lenovo are a few steps ahead with their latest endeavor, the ThinkPad X1 Fold.
A good deal larger than the average smartphone, this new ThinkPad is actually the world’s very first fully-featured PC to boast a folding OLED screen. Fully expanded like a tablet, the HD touchscreen display measures up at 13.3 inches, but can also be “morphed” into multiple alternative modes — including a “small footprint” format. And while its size and shape are impressive, with a weight of under 2.2 pounds, there are also a number of other features that set it apart. They include Intel Core processors with Hybrid technology, 5G connectivity, a Bluetooth Mini Fold Keyboard that can charge when magnetically-stored within the device, Dolby Atmos audio, and Active Pen compatibility. Available in mid-2020, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is priced at $2,499.
