Whether you’re a certifiable art expert or even just a casual museum-goer, Vincent van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ remains one of the most immediately recognizable paintings of all time. At this point, the piece has become something of a cultural phenomenon, with reproductions taking the form of everything from tattoos to t-shirts to towels. Suffice to say, people can’t get enough of it.
And pretty soon, you’ll be able to recreate it for yourself. Designed by an independent brick enthusiast as part of LEGO’s ‘Ideas’ platform, the set you see before you has officially been confirmed for production. Coming in at some 1,552 pieces, it sees the 2D masterpiece reimagined as a buildable 3D model. The attention to detail is astonishing, with the Dutch painter’s characteristic brush strokes and color palette ingeniously represented in the form of smooth bricked curves and stacked plate studs. And if that wasn’t enough — it also comes with a Vincent van Gogh minifigure complete with an easel, paintbrush, and printed canvas. You can follow the project’s progress at the link below.
