Lego Vestas Wind Turbine

LEGO has taken the towering colossuses of the world — the Eifel Tower, Statue of Libertie, Empire State Building — and scaled them down so that Lego-lovers, big and small, can keep a model of these larger-than-life LEGO edifices in their living spaces. Their most recent towering creation is a scaled down Lego Vestas Wind Turbine Creator Kit, which actually moves just like a real-world wind turbine.

Earlier this week, MHI Vestas unveiled the largest-ever wind turbine used to generate electricity. The MHI Vestas Offshore Wind Turbine has a diameter of 64 meters with 80-meter blades. Another exciting project has been released in conjunction with this industry revolution: the LEGO x Vestas collaboration creator kit. The relatively huge, 39-inch turbine comes with a base that’s made complete with little trees and Vestas service workers accompanying vehicles. The 800+ piece set comes with a working Power Functions motor that turns the blades of the fan (though it will only leech energy, not produce it).

Purchase: $200
