LEGO’s Technic branch is no stranger to the recreation of immaculate supercar models, and McLaren’s groundbreaking platforms are not immune. As it turns out, the brand’s newest release takes the form of the manufacturer’s lauded Senna GTR — an on-track icon that pairs McLaren’s “power and sophistication” with the renowned precision of LEGO design.

The LEGO Technic McLaren Senna GTR is an 830-piece homage to the supercar, establishing itself as a moderately-complex project that’s sure to be the envy of motorsport fans everywhere. As the first McLaren supercar to take on LEGO Technic form, this inaugural model boasts a detailed V8 engine (with moving pistons), dihedral doors, and the artful aerodynamic traits of the original, promising builders hours upon hours of intricate immersion. To round things out, the 12-inch model has been finished in an eye-catching blue hue, making it a perfect candidate for visual display. Head to LEGO’s website to learn more about the $50 project, which is slated for release on January 1, 2021.
