Of the many unique elements that made Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy so popular with moviegoers, the radical vehicle designs shown in the dark and gritty films are undoubtedly one of their biggest draws. And after previously collaborating with DC on a Batmobile Tumbler in 2014, LEGO has now revealed an updated take on the six-wheeled runner.
The updated 2021 model is 1cm taller and wider and 4cm longer, and is comprised of 180 more pieces than its 2014 predecessor, allowing for a more lifelike model of the real machine — which was designed by Nathan Crowley, featured a 5.7L V8 engine, and spat flames through a hot air balloon burner. Measuring 6″ H x 17″ L x 9″ W, this new adult LEGO kit is comprised of some 2,049 pieces and features a revised design that includes a few new detailed elements, new Joker and Batman mini-figures, and a new wheel setup that, just like the actual movie car, wears a pair of racing rain tires in front and four super swampers in the rear. Available for preorder now with a release date scheduled for November 1, the LEGO Batman Batmobile Tumbler is priced at $230. Additionally, LEGO will also be releasing a smaller 422-piece Batmobile Tumbler kit that’s 7.5″ H x 4.5″ L for $40 on October 1.
