If you’re looking to re-design something, it’s probably a good call to get the people who use it the most to give you some serious input. That is exactly what knife-maker Lansky did when they produced the AX-911 Fire Fighters Battle Axe.

With the guidance of professional firefighters, Lansky built a multi-tool intended to take on the toughest of fires. The handle is insulated up to 10,000 volts – so if you strike a line or outlet it won’t be the end of you. In addition to a mean 1075 steel blade, the axe includes a hose wrench, gas valve wrench, pry-bar, and impact tool so you can take on whatever life is throwing at you. Measuring in at a little over fifteen inches long and weighing almost two pounds, this multi-purpose sidearm is easy to carry, and can bear loads of up to 600lbs. Pick one up for the station or for the home at $50. [Purchase]
