Land Rover & Autohome Craft A 2020 Defender-Ready Rooftop Tent

Land Rover boasts one of the most elaborate aftermarket part catalogs in the industry, and if you’re an off-road enthusiast who’s looking to take his Defender into the great unknown, there are more than a few interesting peripherals to bolster your readiness. The company’s latest example just so happens to be a co-opted enclosure from Autohome, allowing interested Land Over 110 owners to pitch a tent wherever they see fit.

The Land Rover x Autohome Defender Roof Tent is a bespoke offering designed specifically for the 110’s canopy. It boasts a spacious, two-person interior, LED lighting, and an intuitive architecture that allows it to be set up in a matter of seconds, courtesy of its integral gas struts, carbon grey fabric siding, and lightweight fabric shell. But the most interesting aspect of the Autohome collaboration comes with its aerodynamic efficiency. When closed, the specialized capsule measures in at only 2.3m long, 1.3m wide, and 1.5m high, meaning that it won’t decimate your gas mileage as you head off-grid for those long-winded trips. Head to either Land Rover or Autohome’s website to learn more about the $3,500 peripheral.
