The many iterations of Land Rover’s Defender 4×4 SUV certainly don’t need to be improved upon. However, the folks at E.C.D. keep managing to figure out new and exciting ways to make that happen. Their latest: a Corvette-powered D130 they’re calling ‘The Force.’
With its white-on-black stormtrooper facade, the connection to the Star Wars franchise is pretty clear. But the moniker has another implication in this case: under the hood, this monolithic off-roader boasts a 6.2L LS3 V8 engine capable of 565 horsepower. That beastly beating heart is also bolstered by the vehicle’s Fox suspension and 2″ lift kit, Borla Performance exhaust, upgraded braided stainless steel fuel system, and performance brake kit. Of course, E.C.D. hasn’t overlooked the interior, either, equipping it with a full roll cage, Corbeau RRS quilted leather seats, a MOMO Quark steering wheel, Moal Bomber gauges, and a top-of-the-line JL Audio sound system (amongst a slew of other upgrades). All told, this is one of the brand’s most impressive builds — and that’s saying quite a lot.
