It’s not every day that we’re able to celebrate impressive milestones in the volatile automotive industry, but today we’re able to acknowledge the production of the 2,000,000th Land Rover Defender.
Back in May, Land Rover sent a special team of employees and representatives to their Solihull facility to piece together a unique 2,000,000th vehicle. The Defender 2,000,000 will have an exterior wrapped in Indus Silver satin paint, “no 2,000,000” branding aplenty, and an aluminum plaque signed by those that helped build the car. The Defender will also feature “Red Wharf Bay” graphics throughout its interior, as the story goes that Red Wharf Bay is where the Defender was first drawn in the sand. The Land Rover Defender 2,000,000 will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the car will be auctioned off in December at a charity event in London.
