Land Rover 70th Anniversary Posters
Founded in 1948, Land Rovers have driven the asphalt and trekked the rocky, off-road terrain for seven decades. In celebration of their 70th birthday, the British Auto Manufacturer has commissioned a series of eight graphically-stunning posters, for the true fans of the septuagenerian.
The posters each encapsulate moments of significance in the Land Rover lineage. The evolution of the Land Rover begins with a poster reminiscent of a war-time ad, bearing the Land Rover Series I conceived by Maurice Wilks, illustrated in an period-accurate Norman Rockwelle-esque style. The next in the series depicts the Land Rover II, has a late-50s comic book feel to the artwork, as the automobile company bolstered its staple model with barrel sides and a more powerful engine. Then, the aerodynamic Series AII from 1969, followed shortly after by the introduction of the Range Rover to the family. The poster breaks with the monochrome look of those that preceded it, marking a revolutionary moment in Land Rover’s rise. Three posters of subsequent linchpin models follow from that, and the series culminates with the sleek and contemporary 2018 Range Rover Velar. Hang these posters up to bring the Land Rover fossil record to life in your room.
