KTM’s Innovative ‘Terra Adventure’ Gear Just Won A Red Dot Design Award

KTM knows a thing or two about high-level adventure riding, as evidenced by the Ready To Race brand’s unprecedented 18 consecutive wins at the world-famous Dakar Rally since the turn of the millennium. And after recently unveiling its new flagship 1290 Super Adventure R model (and its 890 ADV range), the Austrian outfit has now debuted an accompanying line of adventure-riding apparel.

Christened the “Terra Adventure” range, this 2021 Red Dot Design Award-winning jacket and pants collection was developed with an immense focus on durability, airflow, and versatility. The Terra ADV Jacket sports integrated SAS-TEC shoulder and elbow armor (and a pocket for an optional spine protector), a removable modular front pocket, a removable 100% waterproof shell that neatly stows away in its own dedicated back pocket, a KTM-branded quilted removable thermal liner, a slew of adjustment points, and a clever ventilation system with YKK-QUICKBURST zippers and front and rear pull-tabs that can instantly open up airflow channels — the first system of its kind ever seen on a moto riding jacket. The Terra Adventure pants boast the same wildly rugged and abrasion-resistant construction, SAS-TEC armor, and suite of ventilation ports and adjustment points.
