This Unique ‘Train Lodge’ Is A Rustic Escape Above South Africa’s Sabie River
Taking a long-winded trip abroad has never sounded so appealing. After being stuck inside for an extended period of time, it’s safe to say that when things return to normal, more than a few individuals will be hopping on a jet and traveling to their favorite far-away locale. And we’re willing to bet that, upon its completion, the Kruger Shalati-built “Train Lodge” will be at the top of many a traveler’s list.
Located just above the Sabie River in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, this unique, one-of-a-kind escape takes the form of a rustic train perched atop an unused railway bridge. Each car has been fully restored and revitalized with tasteful interior design pieces, furniture, and art, complementing its length-running windows and relaxing lounge areas. There are 24 distinct rooms aboard the train’s various carriages, providing inhabitants with an intricately-designed bar, deck area, and pool, allowing for unparalleled panoramic views of the area. While no in-depth information has been revealed, you can visit the lodge’s website for a closer look. The Kruger Shalati Train Lodge is slated to begin operation in September 2020.
