One of the biggest fears of many swimmers is the fear of drowning. But surprisingly, typical flotation vests are frequently ignored as a safety option because of their lack of comfort, fashion or the amount of space they take up. Now, there’s a better, smaller device that is simply worn on your wrist: the Kingii Flotation Aid.
The Kingii Flotation Aid is being marketed as the world’s smallest inflatable to swimmers, surfers and sailors. The Kingii consists of an inflatable nylon bladder which is folded into a tiny pouch and integrated into a wrist strap along with a CO2 cartridge. Pulling a lever inflates the bright orange bladder in roughly one second, giving users an emergency flotation device. The Kingii also features a whistle to signal for help, as well as a small compass for navigating back to the shore. The Kingii is being funded on Indiegogo and will cost early backers $69 for the device and two CO2 cartridges. [Purchase]
