As versatile as camping can get, there are a few staple items that – no matter what – make up a list of camping essentials that serve a useful purpose whether you’re car camping or hucking it into the backcountry for a weeklong retreat. We’re speaking of course about the camping ax – positioned to be a lightweight yet reliable tool built for any outdoor excursion.

Kershaw’s Tinder Ax, for instance, is a fine example of this, measuring just over 10 inches in length and only weighing a meager 15 ounces. The Tinder also features a 3.3-inch blade made from 3Cr13 steel complete with a BlackWash finish and a glass-filled nylon handle. Additionally, this handy ax functions as a multi tool, thanks to four hex tools in the blade, a pry point, nail remover, a bottle opener at the base of the handle, and a hammer on the back of the tool. Keep it loaded in your gear bag, tool box or camper for when the time is right. The Tinder Personal Ax surely won’t disappoint.
