The ‘Kerfton’ Was Designed To Be The Ultimate Off-Road Family Camper

Barry Trippit is an Australian off-roading and Overlanding enthusiast that wanted to share his passion for off-grid exploration with his growing family — ultimately leading the seasoned engineer to design and release the ultimate family-friendly off-road camper, dubbed the Kerfton.

The Kerfton camper trailer resembles a bed of a full-size pickup with a rear tailgate and a dual clamshell-style roof that opens into a tent with 6.5’ of standing height, a queen-size bed, and two twin beds. In addition to storage areas and various ports at the front of the trailer, the back of the Kerfton also sports a full kitchen that can slide out of the trailer and be used without the tent being opened or erected. Spanning 14’ and weighing 2,200lbs (dry), the off-road trailer also packs a fridge and freezer, sinks and water storage, a removable 5’ picnic table, on-board power supply, and everything else one’s family would need for extended off-grid adventures — something the Kerfton is more than capable of thanks to its rugged galvanized steel chassis, coil spring-equipped independent trailing arm suspension, and 16” steel-alloy wheels shod in 285x75R16 all-terrain tires. The Kerfton Off-Road Family Trailer will be available soon, with more information available through the company’s website linked below.
