With Ken Block no longer signed with Ford, it was time for the celebrity wheelman to line up some new rides for the 2021 year. And Block has now revealed his 2021 rally weapon of choice: a new, heavily-modified Subaru WRX STi. The option makes ample sense, considering Block has plenty of experience behind the wheel of a Subaru — he did drive one while winning his first national championship and performed his first two Gymkhana videos at the helm of one of the Japanese cars.
The 2021 model STi has been extensively modified for rally use, and features the regular array of exaggerated bodywork, competition wheels, and gutted interior that you’d expect on a modern race machine. Though the images seen here were digitally created by automotive concept designer extraordinaire Ash Thorp, the bright blue and purple livery was penned by renowned Brooklyn-based Mexican artist and designer It’s A Living (aka Ricardo Gonzalez). Alongside the Subaru, Block has also announced that 2021 will see him race a Tuthill-built Safari-spec Porsche 911 at the East African Safari Classic Rally before heading off to Mexico to campaign a Trophy Truck at the infamous Baja 1000.
