As one of the world’s most established creative directors, Kashiwa Sato is a man whose artistic ability knows no bounds. From developing brand logos to envisioning architectural projects, the Japanese designer has had a hand in it all. And while his resume boasts big-ticket projects with the likes of Rakuten, Seven Eleven, Uniqlo, his latest effort is decidedly smaller scale. But that’s not to say that it’s any less special.
In collaboration with G-SHOCK, Sato has crafted a limited edition DWE-5600KS watch that includes a host of unique features. For starters, the dial has been done up with a design that calls back to the creative’s Lines series, with red, blue, and white stripes bordering the display. What’s more, a capital letter K appears when the backlight button is depressed. And when it comes to the case and strap, there are options aplenty. With clear skeleton, orange, and green variations of G-SHOCK’s translucent plastic textile hardware included in the set, there are up to 27 different combinations available for you to mix and match. Housed inside some eye-catching commemorative packaging, it makes for quite the artistic homage. It’ll drop in March for ¥25,000 JPY (about $240).
