Grant, Sattler, and Malcolm Make a Grand Return in ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ Trailer
Preferring the original version of anything is often justified, especially when it comes to film. Having said that, fans of the original Jurassic Park film are in for quite the ride seeing that its three most memorable characters are making a grand return to Jurassic World Dominion, the sixth and latest installment in the action-packed franchise.
Dinosaurs aside, few characters were as integral to the original Jurassic Park as Dr. Alan Grant, portrayed by Sam Neill, and he makes his return to the franchise here after last appearing in 2001’s Jurassic Park III. Also returning for the first time since that film is Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Grant’s former colleague and romantic partner. Rounding out the trio is Dr. Ian Malcolm. Jeff Goldblum’s fan-favorite mathematician starred in the first two Jurassic Park films before returning for a brief cameo in the franchise’s last installment, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, in 2018. This time around, he looks to have an expanded role as the new trailer sees him physically reunited with his two old cohorts. Additionally, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and other cast members from the previous two Jurassic World films also reprise their roles, fully merging the franchise’s two distinct trilogies.
Aside from getting a few glimpses of this much-anticipated reunion, the new trailer also features some fun exchanges between the new and old cast members (Grant and Pratt’s Owen Grady have a particularly funny bit), along with an absolutely absurd amount of dinosaur action. If you were afraid that all of the returning characters meant the dinosaurs were going to take a backseat, fear not, as Jurassic World Dominion looks to feature more dinosaur attacks by far than any other franchise installment.
As one of the many films forced to shut down production upon the onset of the pandemic, it sure is great to know that the blockbuster will finally see the light of day soon. Jurassic World Dominion will be released just in time for summer, making its way into theaters on June 10th.
