As a result of the pandemic’s halt in studio production, some of the more highly-anticipated films of 2020 ultimately became the most awaited of 2021, and so on. Included in that category was yet another sequel in the illustrious Jurassic Park franchise, this one serving as the third of its Jurassic World series. While the initial two were rather polarizing, the prologue for Jurassic World: Dominion provides a sneak peek at a potential return to form.
Starting off with lush landscapes from sixty-five million years ago, the use of CGI put on display here is truly transcendent when accounting for how the series has looked in the past. With a bevy of Brontasauruses, a couple of Velociraptors, and even a Pterodactyl, the detail used in its onset is pretty immaculate. Gradually, this leads to a violent battle between a pair of T-Rexes, which then cuts to the modern-day, where yet another T-Rex is shown rampaging through the forest, en route to tearing up an entire drive-in movie theater. Making its grand return, however, is the amber-coated mosquito from the original film that assisted in opening up the original park, proving that from summertime itches to honing the ability to bring dinosaurs back into existence, mosquitoes are truly man’s most mortal enemy.
Similar to the World‘s prior installments, Chris Pratt stars as Owen Grady in what will surely be another ridiculously high-grossing sequel at the box office. Slated to release on June 10, 2022, make sure you flock to the theaters and catch the latest addition to this grand story of life versus death and T-Rex versus T-Rex.
