It’s not unusual to see rare and valuable items go under the hammer at auctions, whether it be movie or sports memorabilia or other items of historic significance, though we’ve never come across a single auction with lots as diverse and elite as the ongoing “Hollywood: Legends And Explorers” sale from Julien’s Auctions.
Comprised of over 900 lots, this sale boasts all manner of noteworthy items, both from modern times and yesteryear. Hollywood memorabilia slated to cross the block includes a grip of Steve Martin memorabilia including a handful of costumes such as his “Karate Robe” from Bowfinger, Sheriff McClelland’s rifle from Night Of The Living Dead, Bilbo Baggins’ pipe from the Lord Of The Rings movies, a Paul Newman race suit, the original space suit from 2001: A Space Odyssey, and a variety of the hazmat suits (and mask) from Breaking Bad, as well as Walter White’s iconic jacket, amongst many, many more. There’s also the space-flown flight control sticks and a glove from the spacesuit used by Neil Armstrong on NASA’s Apollo 11 Mission, and a space-flown tool kit from the Apollo 17 Mission.
