In 2020, high-end camera-maker Leica embarked on a year-long development initiative with projector company JMGO, and now we’re seeing the result in the JMGO 01 Pro short-throw projector — and it’s pretty impressive.
The JMGO 01 Pro features an optical engine that was jointly developed and optimized with Leica. As a result, the compact smart projector is able to project a 100” screen with 4K 1920 x 1080P resolution from a distance of just 9.2” — a nearly six-inch improvement over the non-Leica developed standard JMGO 01. The projector runs its own operating system in Luna OS, which works with Amazon Alexa for seamless voice integration. Even the sound of the projector is impressive — a rarity — with its dual speaker system having been co-developed with DYNAUDIO and offering support for Dolby and DTS. The JMGO 01 Pro also boasts several smart features you’d expect from a high-end LED projector, including wall color calibration, keystone correction, and autofocus. Pricing has not been released as of yet, but the projector is set to launch on Indiegogo in the near future.
