Thanks to their increasing popularity – especially amongst the growing high-intensity workout community – the market is awash with any number of wireless earbuds. There’s one company, however, that stands out as one of the show-runners of this kind of tech and they’ve just announced a 3rd iteration in their line of wildly revered Bluetooth-enabled earbuds: Jaybird. And, aptly named the X3, they promise to be the brand’s most impressive yet.

While the X3s boast a number of the same specs as their predecessors (like sweat-proofing), there are certainly some stand-out features in this latest generation – namely these earbuds are slightly smaller, but they are equipped with enhanced 6mm drivers that promise fuller, more faithful sound. They’ve also modified their fit so that they’re not only more ergonomic and secure, but they’re also compatible with helmets (snowboard season is upon us). The battery life has been improved to an impressive 8 hours of functional time and it can be “quick-charged” for a full hour’s worth of play in just 15 minutes. Jaybird has even tooled around with the onboard antenna, tweaking it to drastically reduce skips and give the earbuds improved range. And (like that’s not enough to get us excited) they’re compatible with more devices than ever, including smart watches – if you’re the type to want to leave your phone somewhere safe during workouts. These killer audio accessories retail for $130. [Purchase]
