One of the greatest champions in professional golf is Jack Nicklaus (aka The Golden Bear), who carved out his space in sports history by earning 18 major championship titles — a feat that hasn’t been matched. What you see here is Jack Nicklaus’ Day-Date Rolex Reference 1803 Watch, which can be yours if you have the financial firepower to nab it.
The all-time leader in major professional golf victories is selling his Rolex with all proceeds going to his charity: Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. This 18-karat watch found its way onto Nicklaus’ wrist during a 1966 Rolex cocktail event in Tokyo. He chose this gold Day-Date Rolex to coincide with his Golden Bear moniker. According to Nicklaus, this watch barely left his wrist throughout the 50 years he owned it. In fact, he won 12 majors wearing it. This is one of the most storied Rolex timepieces on the market and it will be part of an auction in New York on December 10. Before it finds its new owner, the wristwatch will be presented at various places around the globe, including the US Open at Pebble Beach from June 13-16.
