IWC is already arguably the most highly regarded pilot’s watch maker in the business, and now the Schaffhausen-based brand is furthering that reputation with a trio of new Pilot’s Watch Chronographs.
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Squadrons Editions were created to honor three of the U.S. Navy’s aviation squadrons: the Tophatters, the Royal Maces, and the world-famous Blue Angels. The three watches, special variants of IWC’s Pilot’s Watch Chronograph, are based on watches that the brand developed with these squadrons that are only accessible to their pilots. The new civilian versions are housed in ceramic cases — black for the Tophatters and Royal Maces and blue for the Blue Angels — and all feature Ceratanium pushers and crowns. Each watch has its respective squadron’s patch located at 6 o’clock, along with a squadron-specific engraving on the titanium caseback. Beating away inside the 44.5mm watches is IWC’s in-house 69380 Calibre automatic chronograph movement. All three Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Squadrons Editions are available now from IWC for $10,900.
