Infiniti Prototype 9 All Electric Roadster

When people hear the term “retro roadster,” usually its brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz come to mind. Especially when you throw qualifiers like “beautiful” or “stunning” in front of the phrase. Shockingly, however, this stunningly beautiful roadster, called the Prototype 9, comes to us from Nissan’s luxury brand, Infiniti.

The fact that Infiniti wasn’t even an idea in the heyday of retro roadsters has not hindered them in the least from creating an interesting entry of their own. And it also means they weren’t tied to convention – allowing the brand to unabashedly power this handsome open-wheeled car with an all-electric powertrain (which also happens to be a prototype). That engine, by the way, gives the Prototype 9 a top speed of just under 106 mph, a 0-62 time of just 5.5 seconds, and a range of just 20 minutes. Those numbers, however, won’t keep up from chomping at the bit for a chance to tool around in this gorgeous throwback machine.
