Incredible Cross Sections Of Star Wars

It is hard to think of anything more satisfying than looking at cross sections of tech pieces – real or fictional. Just try to spend less than half an hour pouring over illustrator Hans Jenssen’s work on the classic Star Wars vehicles and you’ll see exactly what we mean.

Hans’ illustrations were contracted by the group behind the iconic series of movies back in 1997. The task was relatively simple – draw cross sections of vehicles seen in the first three movies – but the project would turn into something much larger. Nearly 10 years and five books later, Hans Jenssen has illustrated locations from both the classic movies and the ensuing prequels. Almost ironically, Hans doesn’t use any software programs to illustrate these futuristic pieces of tech, resulting in a kind of earthy imagining that echoes Lucas’ original films. You can pick up his classic cross sections book in hardcover for just $8. [Purchase]
