The challenge of incorporating speakers and other electronics into your home is finding a way to do so without clashing with your home’s decor. Rarely will an electronic device elevate the look of a room, but IKEA and Sonos have managed to come up with a speaker that does just that.
As the latest installment in the two brands’ SYMFONISK collaboration, IKEA and Sonos have announced the Picture Frame WiFi Speaker. Designed to be hung on your wall, the speaker resembles a painting, allowing it to not only blend into your living space more seamlessly but also enhance it. The speaker comes in both white and black variants, with interchangeable fronts that allow you to further customize the look to fit your style. The artwork was done by artist Jennifer Idrizi, who was inspired by the study of visual sound vibrations. More than just a piece of attractive decor, the speaker is also a fully-fledged Sonos smart speaker, meaning it will work with the Sonos app, connect to other Sonos devices, and stream music from over 100 services. Launching at IKEA on July 15, the SYMFONISK Picture Frame WiFi Speaker is priced at $199, with additional picture panels priced at $20.
