IKEA has long been lauded as the “LEGO of the furniture industry.” Judging by their most recent collaboration, it seems that they’ve taken that notion to heart. The Swedish interior-design outfit has finally joined forces with its fabled Denmark doppelgänger, LEGO, for an interesting collection dubbed “BYGGLEK.”
To kick off the genre-bending collaboration, the two have come together to introduce a creative storage solution for any area of the home. Known as BYGGLEK, this unique, box-like offering will feature LEGO connectors and studs on its exterior, allowing owners to expand upon their collection with a set of included bricks for unparalleled creative expression. In theory, the BYGGLEK box is a modular system that can be customized to fit your own personal preferences and style, while still remaining fully functional in terms of organization and cleanliness. Food items, figures, and structural blocks can be utilized to build whatever your heart desires, without the need for any additional tools or items. Head to LEGO’s website to learn more about the collection, which will feature four different box sizes (starting at $10), and a 201-piece BYGGLEK LEGO brick set, which will arrive alongside the capsule for an additional $15.
