With the world still reeling from the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak last year and the majority of the population still working from home, there has been an influx in sales for items like blankets, robes, athleisure wear, and other items that lend themselves to use around the house. Recognizing this undeniable trend, Ikea has engineered a unique throw pillow that transforms into a wearable quilt.

Dubbed the FÄLTMAL, this hybrid pillow-quilt is equipped with a clever button-fastening and zipper system that allows it to convert from a pillow into a wearable sleeved quilt. Machine washable and suitable for light outdoor use, the FÄLTMAL features an all-nylon construction that’s stuffed with a 12oz polyester fill made from at least 80% recycled content and outfitted with a mesh pocket and SBS zippers with decorative frayed pulls. Weighing just 23oz, (or 1.4375lbs), the “blanquilt” measures 75” L x 47” W. Available now, the Ikea FÄLTMAL pillow-quilt has been priced at $35.

Purchase: $35
