Founder and CEO of OFICINA3D, Ander Alencar is one of Brazil’s most lauded designers in the 3D conceptual architecture space, with more than two decades of experience in the industry and a deep portfolio of cutting-edge work. The Santa Catarina-based designer is also a leading force in the emerging field of “Archviz” (short for “architectural visualization”), a style of using computer software to create conceptual renderings of hypothetically-possible, structurally-sound, and properly-engineered buildings. And one of our favorite recent examples of expertly-crafted Archviz is undoubtedly that of Alencar’s plainly-named, “Iceland Cabin.”
Alencar has previously produced a number of different modern cabin designs set atop raised platforms, all in various picturesque settings. And while it’s a far cry from some of the more tropical locales Alencar has experimented with, the Nordic coastline pairs wonderfully with the window-laden dwelling. Even more impressive than the design of the cabin itself, is the astounding level of detail Alencar has bestowed upon the concept — a beautifully-executed amalgamation of Autodesk 3ds Max, Quixel Megascans, Corona Renderer, and Photoshop.
