Hyundai Elevate Walking Car Concept

Jan 9, 2019

The sharp minds at Hyundai are flexing their imagination and bringing us closer to a Star Wars future with their new walking car concept. With the Hyundai Elevate, wheels are just the beginning as this vehicle has legs that fold out, allowing you to walk over any challenging terrain.

Hyundai’s Ultimate Mobility Vehicle has the ability to reach remote areas thanks to robotic lockable legs with five degrees of freedom. Each of the car’s four wheels is attached to a leg that’s powered by a built-in propulsion motor. According to Hyundai, the Elevate would be the ideal search-and-rescue vehicle and could even be used by disabled people where ramps aren’t provided. The Elevate car concept can also climb a five-foot wall or even clear a five-foot gap with ease. It’s just a concept for now, but we’re rooting for Hyundai to make this mini AT-AT walker a reality.
