Hyperlite UltaMid 2 Pyramid Tent

Most of the time, when it comes to camping shelters, you have to pick between toughness and functionality or portability and light weight. But not anymore, thanks to Hyperlite’s UltaMid 2 – a 2-person sleeper that perfectly combines capability and practicality.

A big reason this minimalist shelter is so cool is its construction. Made from Dyneema, the tent is both absurdly lightweight (less than 1.2 lbs total) but also incredibly tough (puncture- and slash-resistant and 100% waterproof). It’s also fully seam-sealed, so you don’t have to worry about the outside elements creeping in, and has a waterproof 2-way zipper. Better still, it can be erected with trekking poles, skis, walking sticks, or whatever else you find to give it some structure. Or you can forego a structure altogether and hang it from a tree. In any case, this is one of the most durable and capable minimalist tents we’ve ever come across. And it can be yours for $608.

Purchase: $608
