Hyperlite The Shell Ultralight Technical Jacket

Category: Gear

Hyperlite Mountain Gear has been responsible for making some of the most well-designed, toughest outdoor gear we’ve ever seen. But it’s always left us wondering why they’ve never expanded into apparel. Well, it looks like they were wondering that too, because they’ve just released their first piece of clothing: an ultralight technical jacket they’re calling The Shell.

This jacket’s modest styling betrays nothing of the tech hidden within – like a construction of DCF-WPB fabric (with Dyneema and eVent materials built-in), which makes it waterproof, breathable, and unbelievably tough. It’s also equipped with a waterproof YKK zipper, velcro cuffs for extra weather resistance, a Polartec Power-Dry chin guard, and a built-in low-profile waterproof zippered pocket in which to stash your small items. It even packs into itself, down to about the size of a Nalgene bottle. Get this game-changing jacket for $450.

Purchase: $450
