Hulu’s Upcoming Sci-Fi Toon Is The Wacky Work Of Rick & Morty’s Justin Roiland
With the ongoing global pandemic, there’s more of a need than ever before for new content on streaming services. Fortunately, Hulu has answered the call, announcing the release of a new animated series called “Solar Opposites” that boasts a pretty familiar look.
The show’s basic premise follows a family of extraterrestrial aliens doing their best to blend into suburban America after relocating to the planet only to discover that it’s a “human-infested crap hole.” With such a similar feel to Rick and Morty — both stylistically with the animation, and in terms of the general sense of humor on display — it’s unsurprising to learn that the team behind Solar Opposites includes R&M co-creator, Justin Roiland, as well as the show’s former head writer, Mike McMahan. Voicing the animated series will be Sean Giambrone of The Goldbergs fame, Mary Mack from Twin Cities and Golan the Insatiable, and Justin Roiland who will be voicing the character, Korvo. Solar Opposites follows in the footsteps of Rick and Morty, with a sci-fi-themed take on an animated series aimed at adult audiences. The entire first season of the series releases onto Hulu on May 8, 2020.
