Sure, Apple is usually leading the way when it comes to consumer-oriented computer technology, but sometimes the other guys take the reins of innovation too. Sprout by HP is one such example.

The traditional mouse and keyboard is gone on this desktop, and in its place is combination camera/projector (the “Illuminator”), a 20-point capacitive touchmat that the Illuminator projects a screen onto, and a 23” touchscreen display. The Illuminator is able to scan 2D and 3D objects and put those images into photos and design apps, while the Touchmat becomes another input device and secondary display. Sprout is also a pretty powerful PC, with a 4th gen Core i7-4790S processor, 8GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT graphics, and 1TB of storage. [Purchase]
