HP has always been a major player in the PC world, but their designs aren’t always eye-catching or technologically impressive. At best, most of their offerings are reliable. But it looks like they’ve taken a big step in the right direction with some of their latest products. One such product is their latest Envy model, a massive curved-screen all-in-one desktop computer.

The most obvious feature is its 34″ QuadHD display – which offers a whopping 178 degree field of view. It also has a 21:9 ratio and a resolution of 3440 x 1440. That’s nearly 5 million pixels offering 99% of the sRGB color spectrum. In fact, it’s even Technicolor certified – an assurance that the on-screen images are faithful as possible to the real world. And it is fitted with an HD IR privacy camera, which pops up when in use and hides away when it’s not. The stand upon which the monitor rests houses the computer components – with optional RAM up to 16 gigabytes, up to a 2 terabyte HDD, graphics cards from NVIDIA or AMD, and a 4-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. This computer may very well be HP’s best work thus far. It’s available for pre-order now at a price of $2,000. [Purchase]
