Hot Wheels introduced their first version of a Tesla Cybertruck R/C car back in Feb. 2020, and for 400 bucks, it kinda left a lot to be desired. But now the toymaker is releasing a new version of its 1:10 truck that features a number of notable improvements — for a quarter of the price.
The new Hot Wheels Cybertruck R/C is built to a 1:10 scale like its predecessor, but it now includes a 1:10 free-rolling Cyberquad ATV that fits perfectly in the truck’s bed. The controller has also seen a significant improvement. While the previous gen had a generic R/C controller, the new version is modeled after the Cybertruck’s steering wheel, allowing you to feel more like you’re actually driving a miniaturized version of the wedge-shaped EV. The truck has functional headlights and tail lights for nighttime adventuring, and with a top speed of 12 mph, it’s one of the fastest R/C cars on the market. And unlike the full-size Cybertruck, you can actually buy one of these very soon. The Hot Wheels Cybertruck R/C is priced at $100 and will go on sale through Mattel Creations on May 21 at 9 am PST.
